Who are Nova Luxuries?
Hi, nice to meet you! I am Jo Van Wichen, the proud founder of Nova Luxuries and your dedicated 'barefoot travel' specialist. After working for 10 years in the regular travel industry I got the feeling that something was missing.

This basically sums up a great part of my childhood in The Netherlands, with my dad being a biologist and my mum being a school teacher.
Respecting our planet and showing an interest in nature was a very obvious part of my childhood. My passion for nature, and later adventurous travel, continued to play a big role in my life and after having travelled and lived in a bunch of countries, I settled for the South of France, where I am still happily living til this day together with my husband.
After various different roles in the travel industry I decided it was time to combine all these years of experience and focus on my main goal & passion, regenerative travel & sustainable tourism. Besides being a certified Personal Travel Planner, I also plan wellness, yoga & wine retreats (in collaboration with Retreat Here) and other tailormade adventures and experiences. A one-stop-shop with fair travel playing the lead role!
I am more than passionate about my work (although I don’t really see it as ‘work’) and I equally love to travel and fine dine myself. I like to fuel my body with healthy, local and wholesome foods, but I’m certainly not shy to enjoy a good pizza and tasty Chablis! In short, I believe life is best lived in balance.

Covid has curbed all our adventures and especially for myself as an Australian living overseas. What an amazing trip Jo has helped me and my partner plan to Thailand, my childhood stomping area and then Australia my birth place and home of my large extended family and then onto Indonesia. It was just what we needed and it was wonderful to have someone able to help us with all the intricacies of planning and overseas trip after Covid and knowing someone was there to help you if things were difficult or unclear.
